In Conclusion
Encapsulating the feeling of working with a cutting edge organization in the leadership of environmentalism is better lived than described. Working with these five individuals to make the movement of environmental awareness grow is something that I never thought would be my direction, but would not change it for all the stock brokers’ money in the world.
My experience at Playa Blanca with my team mates throughout the duration of our retreat was nothing short of an enlightening and entertaining adventure. Getting a clearer picture of the individual rolls that make up the whole in the Eco Preservation Society shed more light on the future of our mission and its achievability. Though my blog is my personal experience as opposed to a team consensus, I would like to inform the reader that it was a formal retreat. The weekend consisted of a heavy influence of meetings and brainstorming for improvements within the organization. It just so happened that I felt that it would be slightly more interesting to talk about the staff retreat from an entertaining perspective. Would you rather hear about my first night of ambiguous torment from monkeys or our budget strategy?
I would like to thank my Eco Preservation Society team members for not only engaging in an environmental movement that is globally beneficial but also for warmly welcoming me to the team as a new member in 2010. I am very grateful to be a part of something so special.
Lastly, Kevin Peterson, the founder of EPS, did a fantastic job of coordinating this event and spent many hours in order to do so. All of us participated with our topics of expertise and engaged one another in educating us on how to act as a unit as opposed to individuals. With the execution of the Eco Preservation Society’s first staff retreat I excitedly look forward to our next. With our current velocity of rapid growth only Mother Nature will tell what we will talk about next time. Thank you.
Saludos, Giovanni Lauricella
