December 31st 1979 - I was playing golf at the Royal Mombasa Golf Club (a side trip from a once in a lifetime visit to Kenya). Every time I hit a ball into the rough - I'd head towards it - but my Masai caddy Joe intercepted me with the - I'll get it sir - Black Mamba - Black Mamba. Joe of course got an extremely large tip for being so protective of my safety - but - I was never quite sure!
