Carlos Vinicio Cordero Carlos Vinicio Cordero EPS Director Julio Barrantes met separately this week with both ACOPAC Director Carlos Vinicio Cordero and Manuel Antonio Park director Mauricio Salazar to discuss plans for proposed conservation projects. The outcomes of these meetings were very positive and we continue to move forward with our plans for a significant Earth Day event in April.  We greatly appreciate their leadership and guidance.  Without their efforts and commitment none of this would be possible.

Julio Barrantes from EPS and Julio Bustamante from ACOPAC, visited La Cangreja National Park where the National Telecommunications Company (ICE) has a nursery with a capacity to produce more than 150 000 trees. Enrique Rivera, the park ranger, is in charge of managing ICE's nursery and he has agreed to provide both trees and expertise for the Playa el Rey project.

Alex Barboza Alex Barboza Special Thanks to Palazzo Park for their $5000 contributionSpecial Thanks to Palazzo Park for their $5000 contributionWe have completed the grading of the Nursery site at CoopeSilencio. Special thanks to Alex Barboza from CoopeSilencio for getting us a great price and managing the effort.

Next Step: We hope to have quotes on completing the structure for our nursery in CoopeSilencio this week. We also need to coordinate for a big truck to help us with the trees which are already ready for planting to move them from La Cangreja National Park to our nursery in CoopeSilencio.

Watering System: Special thanks to Byron Bergman for designing a watering system and sourcing the pump, hosing and
Byron BergmanByron Bergmannozzles. The nozzles that Byron found will spray in a square pattern. Thus, the system is designed to operate on minimum pressure and at the same time provide even distribution of the water resource, resulting in maximum efficiency. We are looking forward to seeing the system in action..

We are looking to raise an additional $5000 for the construciton of the Nursery, your support is greatly appreciated.  CLICK HERE for more information about the Playa el Rey Habitat Restoration Project
